Google Kormo to compete with LinkedIn and naukri.com

Google Kormo: On Wednesday Google rolled out their new application for android users. This application is known as Kormo and it is used to help young professionals look for job opportunities and help businesses in the hiring process.

This application was released in 2018 in Bangladesh and later in Indonesia. The application has around 100000 downloads on the play store. The application is operating in urban cities such as Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata.

Zomato and Dunzo (delivery service in Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Jaipur) have already posted 2 million job postings on Google’s Kormo. “In the wake of the pandemic, the jobs landscape stands altered, with demand shifting to new services that require different sets of skills and experience.

Businesses of all sizes face the challenges of the new normal, while job seekers are having to adapt to this shift quickly. We remain committed to contributing towards helping Indians find credible and promising starts to their careers with Kormo Jobs” said Bickey Russell, Regional Manager, and Operations Lead, Kormo Jobs, Google.

Google also initiated this platform in India as there is a high rate of unemployment during the corona outbreak and to help young professionals seeking experience.

Russel, operations lead of Kormo jobs also added, “Encouraged by this momentum and to lend support to employment efforts in a post-pandemic world, we are bringing our Kormo Jobs Android app to India to help even more job seekers discover and apply for jobs across India with an additional gateway.”

He also explained how the company would continue to invest in new features for the platform.  The users would be able to view and analyze the recommended jobs, apply for them, they would also be able to follow up with the application process as well as create a digital CV.

This CV could be shared from the Kormo app. This platform by google has to compete with popular and local players like shine.com, monster, naukri.com, and LinkedIn. LinkedIn has reported 24 million Android users in July (India), application Annie has 22 million users in June but google has around 400 million users in India.
