Earthquake pre-prediction System in India: India to launch its first pre-prediction system for earthquake which will be helping in the pre-prediction of the psychological.
This application is the first Earthquake Early Warning system which has been launched in Uttarakhand recently because the place is full of mountains and goes through heavy landslides usually.
The application is developed by the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority along with the help of the Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee.
The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched the Uttarakhand bhookamp Alert application as for now the Uttarakhand is the first state to work on such application which has its aimed initiative for strengthening public safety.
The application works when the event of an earthquake is going to take place in a particular area and at that moment the system will notify the users in that area over their phones which are expected to experience the seismic waves which help people to look out for the safe spots and hide before the event is going to take place.
This system resembles the practices in the following countries such as Mexico, the United States, and Japan.
Earthquake early-warning systems help in monitoring the earthquake in real-time. It has also been noticed that the slowest seismic waves travel at the speed of over 11,000 kmph which does not give people in the areas far from the epicenter to react to the issues in just seconds which is practically not possible.
With the help of the Earthquake Early warning system, the alert is sent to those who are away from the epicenter and have just a few seconds.
The system is going to use the data collected from the 200 seismic wave sensors across the main central thrust zone which covers the major geographical fault in the Himalayan area which is the earthquake probe zone and the Uttarakhand is also going to provide the same facilities by flowing same patterns.
During the earthquake, the notification of the magnitude will be sent to the individual who is in the epicenter or near the epicenter the along with the timer after the timer ends its shows two options one of them is green which symbolizes that the person is safe and another is red which symbolizes that the person is in danger and need immediate help.
